Voter Photo ID
Chuck Hopson is a strong supporter of voter photo ID and believes that part of protecting the integrity of the ballot box is ensuring every vote is proper and legal. Chuck believes that the right to vote is the very foundation of our democracy and is the single most important civic duty for Americans.
We use our ID for everyday activities like cashing a check, boarding a plane, and using our credit card. Yet, Texas voters aren’t required to show an ID when we exercise our most sacred right – the right to vote.
7 other States have passed some form of voter photo ID and it has been upheld as constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. One of Chuck’s highest priorities is to add Texas to the list of states requiring a voter photo ID in Texas.
